Within the PEROXIS consortium, Universitat Jaume I and Siemens Healthineers AG, have investigated the long timescale electrical response of thick CH3NH3PbI3 (MAPI) perovskite pellets. Their findings point to a coupling of ionic and electronic properties as a dynamic doping effect caused by moving ions that act as mobile dopants. This fundamental understanding will further enlarge the excellent potential of thick perovskite layers for X-ray applications. The full paper can be downloaded here.

Excellent stability of perovskite X-ray detectors
We have illustrated that the perovskite MAPbI3 detector shows outstanding X-ray imaging performance even after 1.5 years of storage in ambient condition. Further improvements of the surface passivation of the pixelated X-ray imaging detector are still needed. This research highlights the great potential of perovskite technology to take X-ray imaging to the next step towards a new era in medical imaging.
